Neil works with entrepreneurs and owners to help them structure their businesses, scale growth, avoid pitfalls and navigate day-to-day business challenges. Neil often works closely with leaders and senior managers as external general counsel for businesses in a variety of sectors including technology, music and entertainment, marketing, construction and real estate development. With the recent legalization of cannabis in Canada, Neil helps budding businesses grow and succeed in this rapidly evolving regulated market.
Prior to joining Momentum Law, Neil built a successful technology driven law firm in Vancouver, worked for a global leader in SAAS based financial services compliance software and as vice president of a provincially regulated private college. He also spent time as tour manager for a successful Canadian band, travelling across North America and Europe, counting brown M&Ms, selling merchandise and dealing with questionable promoters.
Neil is a graduate of the Beedie School of Business (SFU) and the Allard School of Law (UBC). He has taught Land Law at the Sauder School of Business (UBC) and is a former co-author of the Annotated British Columbia Society Act.
Neil is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and the Law Society of British Columbia. He practices law in both jurisdictions and frequently travels between Vancouver, Toronto and Ottawa.*
